EIMS server includes comprehensive documentation, technical support and new
features that directly address the messaging needs of small to medium-sized

QUALCOMM Incorporated licensed the EIMS technology in 1997 from Apple
Computer, Inc. EIMS, originally known as the Apple Internet Mail Server
(AIMS), was licensed and distributed freely over the Internet by Apple Inc.
Since acquiring the EIMS software, QUALCOMM Incorporated has demonstrated
strong commitment to enhancing and improving it, evidenced by the two
updates to the EIMS v1.x and the release of the EIMS v2.0 commercial
product. EIMS v1.x server software will continue to be available from

standards-based supporting POP3, APOP, SMTP, ESMTP, Ph and MIME protocols.

commitment to letting customers choose the right product from a family of
commercial and freeware products available on a variety of platforms,” said
Mark Levitt, research manager for Electronic Messaging at International
Data Corporation (IDC).

Features and new additions provided by EIMS v2.0 include: Multiple Local
Domain Support allows Internet Service Providers to support independent
local domains for multiple customers or company administrators to create
different domains for various departments.

Anti-Spam Feature stops people attempting to deliver spam over the
Internet from utilizing the EIMS server as a “relay server” using IP
address blocking and relay restrictions.

Remote Administration accomplished via the EIMS 2.0 Admin tool. The
administrator can access and make changes to the EIMS 2.0 server from any
Macintosh connected to the Internet or intranet.

to an Internet host is established.

message for specific accounts.

90 days Free Technical Support from the award-winning Eudora tTechnical
support team to assist with any technical issues.

Directory Lookup Services utilizing the Ph protocol. Access up to 19
fields of information for employees, corporate contacts, or both.

“There have been many requests through the EIMS software users groups and
discussion circles concerning a desire for an improved and documented
commercial product,” said Jeff Jacobs, vice president and general manager
of the Eudora Division of QUALCOMM Incorporated. “Our response was to
improve upon a quality server product by creating a feature-rich, easy to
