IPObserver

Little Snitch

Little Snitch (http://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch/index.html) tells you when a program tries to send info to the internet so you can see what’s going on in the background. When an application tries to establish a network connection, Little Snitch intercepts the attempt and brings up an alert panel giving you all the connection details including the name of the application, which initiated the connection. You either choose to allow the connection, to deny it or to add a permanent rule for similar future connections.

Location X

Location X (http://homepage.mac.com/locationmanager/) lets you adjust your Mac for a specific network, time zone, email and more.

Moosepad

MoosePad (http://www.wundermoosen.com/) is an utility configures the built-in Mac OS X firewall in order to block IP addresses found making illegal requests.

pearPortVPN

It can also automatically disconnect any open connections before your Mac falls asleep to prevent an annoying error messages about timed out connections when your Mac wakes up again.

Thousand Parsec wxPython Client
