provider of development solutions for the Mac(R) OS platform has advanced
with the release of CodeWarrior(TM) Development Studio for Mac OS, v9.
The studio includes a broad array of features that enhance productivity and
shorten development cycles, including:
— the Metrowerks PowerPlant(TM) X C++ framework, which allows developers
to write native Mac OS X code using Mac OS X supported features;
— the fastest compiler and build system available for the Mac platform;
— a feature that provides developers a visual display of their package and
allows for easy drag-and-drop of files or folders into the package; and
— expanded Objective-C code development within the CodeWarrior tool suite.

The newest CodeWarrior suite operates seamlessly with the recently
introduced Metrowerks(R) CodeTEST(TM) Software Analysis Tools for Mac(R) OS
X — the only comprehensive suite of C/C++ software analysis tools
available for the Mac OS X platform. The two products combine to offer a
comprehensive set of development solutions for Macintosh developers.
CodeWarrior Development Studio for Mac OS, v9 runs on Mac OS X and includes
the ability to target Mac OS X, Classic Mac OS and Windows(R) OS
development within a single project to create applications with cross
platform capabilities. The suite supports most common development languages
including C, C++ and Objective-C, allowing developers to work in Apple
Cocoa frameworks within the CodeWarrior environment.
The product includes PowerPlant X, a Macintosh framework for Mach-O
development based on the standard programming language C++. The PowerPlant
X framework for Mac OS X development supports carbon events, HIViews and
Unicode, and allows developers to write native Mac OS X code using Mac OS X
supported features. Also included in the studio is the popular PowerPlant
framework for Classic OS and Mac OS X PEF development.
