Apple’s upcoming HomePod-with-display device will offer a magnetic snap-to-wall feature, according to the leaker known as “Kosutami” — as noted by MacRumors.
The device is expected to be dubbed the “HomePad.” In a new post on X, Kosutami added that it would have doorbell integration and Apple Intelligence features.
However, if you were expecting to see the rumored “HomePad” this spring, you may be disappointed. It will arrive this fall, according to Kosutami.
The smart home hub — which some pundits say will be called “Command Center” not HomePad (but I’m going with the latter moniker) — will purportedly sport a 7-inch display, have a speaker (of course), and run an operating system with the codexand of “Charismatic.”
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has said the OS is designed to be used by multiple members of a household. I suspect the final name of the operating system will be “HomeOS.”
Here’s what a September 2024 report from 9to5Mac said about a HomePad:
° The device will be powered by an A18 processor.
° It will have a squarish display rather than an iPad-ish rectangular design.
° It will have a built-in camera that works for FaceTime and other video conferencing apps.
° The device will use the camera to identify hand gestures from a distance.
