Apple preventing iOS 26.2 and iPad 26.2 from being installed on iPhone and iPads that pack the C1 modem

Following the release of the first developer betas of iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 this week, Apple is now preventing the update from being installed on devices with the C1 modem.

as noted by Aaron Perris on X, Apple is preventing the iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 betas from being installed on devices containing the C1 modem, which includes the iPhone 16e, the iPhone Air, and the M5 iPad Pro (Cellular). The update will still show in the settings, but won’t install.

Apple hasn’t commented on the reason for this.
