Eve and ABB showcase the potential of Matter and Thread in the smart home

Eve Systems and ABB are debuting a showcase at IFA Berlin that highlights the potential of Matter as a universal language in the smart home.

Just weeks after Eve’s acquisition by ABB, a technology leader in electrification and automation, the companies say this joint milestone demonstrates how components of ABB’s free@home® building control system can be easily networked with retrofit devices from the Eve family – thanks to Thread and Matter.

Thread is a networking protocol that makes Matter work better by making it easier and faster to connect smart devices to your home. It works alongside your home Wi-Fi network , while also extending your network’s reach and making it more reliable.

Matter is a new smart home standard supported by major companies such as Google, Amazon, and Apple in the tech industry. It addresses many issues around smart home devices, including interoperability, security, and privacy.
