As noted by MacRumors, has Apple classified the fourth-generation iPad as an obsolete product as of November 1. This means the device is no longer eligible for hardware service worldwide.

The fourth generation iPad was announced at a media conference on October 23, 2012, and was released on November 2, 2012. The third generation was discontinued following the fourth’s announcement, after only seven months of general availability. On October 16, 2014, the fourth-generation iPad was discontinued in favor of the iPad Air 2; the iPad Air took its place as the entry-level iPad at that time.
