Apple may be planning to launch the iPhone 13 on Friday, September 17 and third-generation AirPods on Thursday, September 30, according to the  Chinese language site IT Home — as noted by MacRumors.

The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) thinks the timetable is almost right. However, I expect both the iPhone 13 and the third gen AirPods to go on sale on Friday, September 24. I think we’ll see a (virtual) Apple event announcing them on Tuesday, Sept. 14.

Here are the rumors/predictions for the iPhone 13:

° At least some models will support ProRes for videos and Portrait Mode for video.

° It will add advanced photo filters.

° It will pack an A15 processor.

° It will have an “always-on” display like the Apple Watch.

° It will adopt the improved Wi-Fi 6E protocol.

° High-end models of the upcoming iPhone 13 lineup will sport an upgraded ultra-wide camera with autofocus.

° Some, perhaps all, models will have LiDAR sensors.

As for the “AirPods 3,” they’re expected to look pretty much the same as the current version, but with a shortened stem, adjusted earbud body and an AirPods Pro-style charging case.
