According to Nikkei Asia, the next gen iPhone SE will arrive in the first half of 2022. The report says it will sport an A15 processor, 5G support, and a 4.7-inch display.

This sort of contradicts a DigiTimes report from yesterday. That said the second gen iPhone SE will have an A14 processor, not an A15.

The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) thinks Apple will go with the A14 chip. Most folks who’ll buy the smaller smartphone won’t be overly concerned whether it packs the A14 or A15.

I also Apple NOT to offer a “mini” iPhone next year. There seems to be little need for two budget iPhones, and I think Apple will go with the SE. After all, sales of the iPhone mini have been disappointing.
