Paul Matthijs Lombert, Roelof de Koning and Boy van Amstel have created Hedge 1.0. It’s a Mac OS X (Yosemite or El Capitan) video importing app designed to streamline the process of importing data from cameras.

Hedge creates multiple copies simultaneously, and guarantees every file is bit-for-bit perfect, says Matthjis. It imports files while verifying others and cross-references every copy against its source. Hedge shows transfers as “copying” or “completed” via progress indicators.

The app auto-launches AppleScripts for extendable workflows (sorting, transcoding, renaming, tagging. It supports all regular drives, including REDMAG, Compact Flash, XQD, SxS and P2.

Hedge is available to purchase (http://www.hedgeformac.com) for $15 a month or $150 for a year outside the EU, or Euro15/Euro150 within the EU. A free version, limited to two simultaneous transfers, is available for download.
