Bits&Coffee has updated BatchPhoto, its photo manipulation app for Mac OS X, to version 4.1 that lets photographers, web designers, business people, and families enhance photos. A user can simply select a group of photographs, and with a single operation annotate, transform, touch-up, apply special effects, convert to different image types, and rename every image in the group.

With BatchPhoto you can annotate images in batches. The Date filter can stamp photos with the date and time of capture (as retrieved from the photo’s metadata), the Watermark filters can visually watermark images with text and logos, and the Comment filter can add paragraphs of text to dozens of pictures with ease.

New features in version 4.1 include full support for OS X El Capitan, an improved Date graphical filter with lots of options for formatting and drawing the date/time stamp, improved support for Retina on Mac, the option to pause the photo processing, and more.

The software can automatically resize, crop, rotate and replace colors for thousands of photos in one session. For example the Auto Rotate filter knows the right orientation for all digital photos based on the information embedded in the photo’s metadata by the digital camera, and the Auto Crop filter can automatically crop an image to a predefined aspect ratio like 16:9.

With BatchPhoto it’s simple to touch up groups of photos by automatically changing the contrast, brightness, sharpness, noise level, and color balance, among others. It also includes a full library of artistic effects, like sepia, black & white, custom borders, charcoal drawing or a simulated oil painting.

The program can read and write more than 170 image file formats, including: JPEG, TIFF, PDF, PNG, GIF, BMP, EPS, TGA, and PSD. It can also read RAW image formats from DSLR digital cameras like Canon, Sony, Nikon, Olympus, Fuji, and more.

Bits&Coffee BatchPhoto 4.1 comes in three editions: Home, Pro, and Enterprise priced at $29.95, $49.95 and $129.95, respectively $129.95. A demo is available at the product website (www.batchphoto.com).
