MIDI utilities specialist Kenton has released the D-SYNC bi- directional MIDI to DIN Sync convertor, a new addition to its growing family of compact and sturdy MIDI utility boxes that converts MIDI Clock to DIN Sync (sync24) and DIN Sync to MIDI Clock signals.

Central to its namesake MIDI to DIN Sync-converting “dialogue” is an ability to receive MIDI Clock and run/stop signals and convert them to DIN Sync (sync24) and back again. The D-SYNC bi-directional MIDI to DIN Sync convertor conveniently packs MIDI IN, MIDI OUT, SYNC IN, and SYNC OUT five-pin DIN sockets into a road-ready metal box finished in brushed aluminum.

The D-SYNC bi-directional MIDI to DIN Sync convertor can be purchased for approximately US$88. Go to http://www.kentonuk.com/products/items/utilities/d-sync.shtml for more info. (Note that a currently in beta testing firmware update will enable the D-SYNC bi-directional MIDI to DIN Sync convertor to work with vintage sync48-equipped devices, such as those from Korg, that use 48 PPQN clock signals.)
