Media 100 launches free educational licensing program for limited time

Boris FX, a developer of visual effects and post-production solutions for film and video, and MacVideo Promo, a promotion company that offers exclusive deals on tools for Mac video editors, have announced a limited-time program that provides free, perpetual Media 100 site licenses to qualified educational institutions. In addition, limited-time discounted pricing is available for qualified students and educators.

Media 100 is video editing software for Mac OS X. Boris RED is integrated 3D titling and visual effects software.

Through Oct. 31, any educational institution that has been accredited by an authorized governmental agency within its applicable local, state, provincial, federal, or national government and has the primary purpose of teaching its enrolled students may apply for a free perpetual Media 100 v2.1.6 site license. A perpetual Boris RED site license is also included with support for Media 100, Adobe Premiere Pro, and standalone rendering on Mac.

Through Oct. 31, students and educators are eligible to purchase Media 100 at a discounted price of US$49.95 (regularly $99). The discounted Media 100 educational license includes Boris RED with support for Media 100, Adobe Premiere Pro, and standalone rendering on Mac. To qualify for the discounted educational pricing:

• Students must be enrolled at a higher education institution defined as an accredited, government-recognized public or private university or college (including community, junior, or vocational college) that grants degrees and/or certificates.

• Teachers and staff must be employed by an accredited, government-recognized public or private primary or secondary school or public or private university or college (including community, junior, or vocational college) that grants degrees and/or certificates.
