Plex Media Server now available on WD’S My Cloud NAS Series

WD (www.wd.com) is expanding its apps offerings by introducing Plex, an entertainment app that can now be downloaded to and deployed on the My Cloud NAS series. Plex (https://plex.tv) organizes video, music and photos from personal media libraries and streams them to smart TVs, streaming boxes and mobile devices.

According to Sven Rathjen, vice president and general manager, WD networked content solutions, says WD is committed to furthering its apps capabilities on its My Cloud product line up. The series of products will now be equipped with an array of Plex features, including:

° Stream supported file formats directly from your personal My Cloud (models: My Cloud Mirror, My Cloud EX2/EX4, My Cloud EX2100/EX4100 and My Cloud DL2100/4100) to any Plex app;

° DLNA support built right in to the app;

° The ability to share media among family and friends;

° One simple interface to organize all of your media.
