WiPowerBand.com has introduced a wearable battery extender for the Apple Watch. A compact battery and wireless power transmitter is embedded in a sleek molded unit that fits under the Apple smartwatch, providing extended battery life and protection, says Dr. Thomas Fiannulli, inventor of the device.

Current estimates show the wiPowerBand can nearly double the battery life of the Apple Watch through its unique patent pending design, he adds. The wiPowerBand device itself is charged using the Apple Lightning power cable, the same cable used to charge the iPhone. This helps eliminate the need to travel with multiple chargers and cables.

The wiPowerBand is available in 38 and 42 mm sizes and in several colors to accessorize the Apple Watch. iPowerBand.com is accepting orders via its website with planned delivery to customers in May-June. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price starts at US$89.
