OWC announces memory upgrades for the iMac with Retina 5K display

Other World Computing (www.macsales.com) has announced OWC Memory Upgrade Kits from 8GB to 32GB for 2014 iMac 27-inch with Retina 5K display models. A “how-to install” video and lifetime limited warranty are included. 

Just like the original 2012 model, a memory access panel on the rear of the 2014 iMac with Retina 5K display ejects via a push button located above the power input. Adding more memory involves installing new modules into the memory slots and reinstalling the access panel.

OWC memory upgrade options for the iMac with Retina 5K display model:

° 8GB (2 x 4GB) PC3-12800 DDR3L 1600MHz Upgrade Kit with Lifetime Limited Warranty. US$99.79. Add to existing 2 x 4GB factory installed modules for 16GB total memory. Offers over 50% savings vs. factory installed 16GB option. 

° 16GB (2 x 8GB) PC3-12800 DDR3L 1600MHz Upgrade Kit with Lifetime Limited Warranty. $197.99 Add to existing 2 x 4GB factory installed modules for 24GB total memory. Offers over 50% more memory and 10% savings vs. factory installed 16GB option.

° 32GB (4 x 8GB) PC3-12800 DDR3L 1600MHz Upgrade Kit with Lifetime Limited Warranty. $395. 40% savings vs. factory installed option.  

iMac with Retina 5K display owners can trade-in the two factory base 4GB memory modules.
