JRM Electronics (www.jmr.com) has announced the general availability of the Dual RAID BlueStor Networked Storage server.

Targeted to the small-to-medium enterprises (SMB) IT and rich mixed media markets that have need for Ethernet or Fibre based, high-load applications (shared storage) requiring high sustained throughput, it’s a storage appliance for file serving, load-balancing and fault-tolerant email/web server/streaming media, digital A/V (Audio/Video) workflow storage, HA cluster and back up storage applications. The BlueStore is available in 16, 32, and 48TB data capacities and can scale beyond 1 PB with a single head unit.

The software license provided from the start allows unlimited storage capacity without need for license upgrades. The BlueStor Networked Storage Server has a patented modular design that uses no cables in the data path, minimizing airflow restrictions and points of failure. The 3U rack mounted SAS/SATA system can accommodate sixteen 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SAS, SATA, or Solid State Drives, and uses vertically-mounted disk drives in designed-in lightweight, low cost, vibration dampening disk drive canisters for the highest signal integrity and airflow. The result is lower drive temperatures, higher operational efficiency and extreme reliability.

The server also offers a multitude of enterprise features including 16 6Gb/s SAS/SATA disk drive bays, four (N+1 configured) high-velocity cooling fans, dual 620W (N+1) hot-swappable power supplies, dual internal SAS expanders, four 1Gb/s NIC ports or optional Dual/Quad 10Gb/s, quad memory channel architecture, PCIe expansion slots, and a high performance motherboard with a 3.5 GHz quad-core Intel i7 CPU, and an Intel™ Z97 Express chipset.

In addition, the BlueStor Networked Storage Server is SES 2.0 compliant and provides real-time disk activity/failure status for every drive bay as well as physical user interface controls and indicators for power and cooling status with visible and audible alarms, plus front panel “on-off” and “reset” switches.

The BlueStor Networked Storage Server euroNAS software has a number of features, which make it attractive to both IT professionals and A/V professionals, including AFP, NFS, SMB/CIFS and FTP support; built-in iSCSI target with support for VMware ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XEN; and Fibre Channel target with support for VMware ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XEN; asynchronous replication that replicates storage to another server; snapshot replication that replicates live data quickly and reliability; and point-in-time snapshots that recover files to the earlier state.

The BlueStor Networked Storage Server is available in three configurations. A basic 16TB NAS dual RAID system starts at US$16,999.
