QuickerTek brings 802.11AC Wireless to MacBook Air, MacBook Pro

QCard 2.jpg

802.11ac wireless has come to the Apple MacBook Air and Pro laptops thanks to QuickerTek’s new US$149 QCard 2, which replaces the stock wireless card.

It goes in the standard wireless card socket, so users don’t sacrifice a USB or other external connection port. Any MacBook Pro or Air running MacOS X 10.8.4  and a PCIe bus (which includes most newer MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models) is a candidate. Users without a PCIe bus may substitute the QuickerTek acNano USB external antenna.

The QCard2 package comes with instructions; additional instructions are also available on the QuickerTek website (http://www.quickertek.com/). The QCard2 also comes with all the tools necessary to install the upgrade.

The QCard2 is currently part of a money-saving bundle. For a limited time, the acHex 6-antenna upgraded Apple Base Station or Apple Time Capsule is bundled with the QCard2.
