Apple reportedly avoided taxes on $8 billion in profits in Australia

An investigative report says Apple successfully avoided taxes on profits of $8 billion in Australia, reports the “Australian Financial Review” — as noted by “AppleInsider” (http://tinyurl.com/k5mwexv).

According to the report, Apple Sales International, the Irish-based entity in charge of Apple’s international tax dealings, has never filed financial returns with the Companies Registrations Office in Dublin. However, the company reported over $100 billion in profit over the last five years while paying less than 50 cents in tax on every $1,000 of income.
