Court doesn’t sanction Samsung for patent licensing disclosures

A U.S. district court says Samsung won’t be sanctioned for the disclosure of confidential Apple-Nokia patent licensing. It blames on the Korean tech giant’s counsel Quinn Emmanuel, reports “AppleInsider” (http://tinyurl.com/pozeuq3).

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled in favor of an Apple order to grant sanctions over the inadvertently leaked information. However, U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul S. Grewal wrote in the order that the dissemination of confidential information was inadvertent and was a “simple error in redaction,” says “AppleInsider.”

This is all part of the ongoing, global legal battle. Apple and Samsung have filed more than 30 lawsuits against each other across four continents. For example, Apple alleges that Samsung copied the slide-to-unlock technology of its iPhone and iPad devices.
