New Zealand courts says ‘driPhone’ doesn’t impinge upon the ‘iPhone name’

Apple has lost a trademark case in New Zealand regarding a waterproof phone case by an inventor named Hayden Crowther, who dubbed his creation the “driPhone.”

Apple said the name was too close to that of their iPhone. However, the New Zealand courts essentially told Apple to go away as this didn’t impinge upon their trademark, notes Forbes. That the court also told Apple to pay Crowther’s court costs. Read more at http://tinyurl.com/lcrm2xx .
