Matthias Gansrigler has released a new update to his drag and drop “helper” Mac app, Yoink. It simplifies drag and drop between windows, spaces and (full screen) apps by providing a “shelf” where dragged files can be placed, to free the mouse for other actions like navigating.

Version 2.5 allows for files in Yoink to be pinned for re-use. It also comes with better handling and recognition of drags. as well as some small improvements and bug fixes.

Yoink is available exclusively on the Mac App Store for US$3.99. It requires OS X Lion or newer. A free 15-day trial is available on the product website (http://www.eternalstorms.at).
