DssW has announced Power Manager and Power Manager Professional 4.1.7 for Mac OS X. This release adds new authorization capabilities and improves support for OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

Power Manager is an energy saving solution for Mac OS X. It enables users to create energy saving schedules and to automate time-consuming tasks. It can power on a Mac, run a series of tasks, and power off the Mac without requiring any interaction.

Power Manager 4.1.7 adds an authentication object to the scheduling engine. The authentication object provides fine-grained control over who can access specific functionality within Power Manager. This is an administrator-focused feature that allows different capabilities to be provided to groups of users, such as staff, students, or guest users. The authentication object is flexible and based on OS X’s authorization rights.

For more information, and to download a 30 day demonstration of Power Manager, go to http://www.dssw.co.uk/powermanager/ . Registration is approximately US$54. Power Manager requires Mac OS X 10.6 or higher.
