Samsung requested a mistrial be declared in its trial with Apple over remarks made by an attorney working for Apple in the final moments of closing arguments in the case on Tuesday. However, U.S. District Court Judge Lucy Koh denied the request.

Samsung attorney Bill Price said that Apple’s lawyer, Harold McElhinny, tried to use racial bias in his closing remarks. McElhinny said that U.S. TV manufacturers of the past failed to protect their intellectual property and “there are no more American TV manufacturers today,” reports the “IDG News Service.”
Price said that he was trying to prejudice the jury against Asian manufacturers.

Instead of a mistrial, Koh told the jury “must not be influenced by any personal likes or dislikes, opinions, prejudices, or sympathy.” Read more at http://tinyurl.com/lqsprhk .
