Apple has released OS X Server 2.2 for Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. The server software update adds a new caching function — the “Caching Service,” which is designed to make software and app updates download faster.
The OS X Server 2.2 update also fixes problems with the Adaptive Firewall, Calendar and Mail services, Contacts service, Messages service, and Profile Manager, according to Apple. It’s a free update and is available via the Software Update component of the Mac OS X Systems Preferences app.
