Seidio (www.seidioonline.com) has announced the US$69.95 VITREO. It’s an iPad (3rd and 4th generations) and iPad 2 screen shield developed from tempered glass.

The high-grade tempered glass has a 9H hardness rating which means it prevents damage in the event of drops and scratches, according to Seido CEO David Chang. The VITREO will absorb any impact, safeguarding the iPad, he adds.

Additionally, the oleophobic coating is purportedly resistant to the marks and smudges every iPad owner encounters on a daily basis. What’s more, with the VITREO, fingerprint marks will be reduced.

The VITREO attaches to the iPad screen with a silicone adhesive. To install, push down on the center and it slowly adheres outward to the edges. The VITREO doesn’t leave behind any sticky residue when removed, says Chang.
