Earlier this week it was reported (http://macte.ch/XbRVj) that the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) has verified Apple’s Retina display MacBook Pro and latest MacBook Air models were among notebooks included on their registry of environmentally approved products.

Following some criticism of that decision, EPEAT has now posted a defense of its actions . You can read the entire thing at http://macte.ch/ctYX8 .

“With these new standards in place, and stakeholders preparing to update the PC/Display standards EPEAT is poised to keep the intended progress of standards development, application and verification, and revision going strong,” the environmental group says. “We encourage critics of the system to push for their points of view in the standards development process — where it counts.”
