A U.S. appeals has court overturned a preliminary injunction banning the sale of Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus smartphone, sending the case back to a California court for reconsideration, reports “Reuters” (http://macte.ch/mWhBo).

Apple had filed a lawsuit in February accusing Samsung of infringing eight patents, and had asked a California court to ban the sale of smartphones it said infringed on its patents. The lower court agreed.

However, “Reuters” reports that the the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, which had previously put a stay on the injunction, ruled that the district court in California “abused its discretion in entering an injunction.”has abused its discretion in entering an injunction.”

This is all part of the ongoing, global legal battle. Apple and Samsung have filed more than 30 lawsuits against each other across four continents. For example, Apple alleges that Samsung copied the slide-to-unlock technology of its iPhone and iPad devices.
