Appsoft Studio (www.appsoftstudio.com) has announced Image Slices 1.0 for Mac OS X, an app that “slices” images into triangular, diamond or other shapes. It requires a 64-bit Mac with Mac OS X 10.6 or later.

Image Slices 1.0 is available for US$0.99 for a limited time. It’s available worldwide exclusively through the Mac App Store in the Photography category.

Slicing is a common feature in image editing applications and helps to divide images into smaller pieces to incorporate them into web pages, iWork applications and more. Slicing helps to print separate pieces of huge posters or charts in the original size. It can also provide material for photo collages and other graphic works.

The cornerstone feature of Image Slices is dividing pictures into smaller pieces, says Eugenijus Valinskas, project manager at Appsoft Studio. Every slice is saved in numerical order to allow the quick search of a particular piece.

Image Slices’ print feature allows the printing of huge posters, charts, maps or plans in the original size even with the regular printer. Every slice can be printed separately and maintain its original size in this way.
