Buffalo Technology (www.buffalotech.com) has announced a refreshed lineup of the AirStation HighPower line of wireless routers and access points with the introduction of WZR-600DHP (US$119.99), WZR-300HP ($84.99) and WHR-300HP ($84.99)

This refresh includes firmware enhancements to Buffalo’s HighPower technology along with a new setup process that allows router configuration from smartphone and tablet devices. The refreshed trio of AirStation HighPower wireless routers ships with an updated version of DD-WRT firmware pre-installed and Buffalo firmware is available for free from the Buffalo downloads site.

AirStation HighPower routers offer greater Wi-Fi capabilities through increased wireless range and speed for enhanced coverage and performance at range, according to Brian Verenkoff, director of product marketing at Buffalo Technology. Utilizing high-quality, optimized high-gain antennas and onboard power amplifiers to notably boost signal strength, HighPower technology greatly extends wireless range to fill in unwanted holes and boost wireless coverage, he adds.
