Judge nixes Apple’s request in Samsung battle

Last week Apple brought a motion for leave to file a motion for reconsideration, essentially complaining about “asymmetrical” schedules for a decision on Samsung’s request to dissolve the preliminary injunction against the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and a decision on new injunctions requested by Apple. Judge Koh just denied Apple’s motion, notes “FOSS Patent” (www.fosspatents.com).

Samsung’s motion for dissolution will be heard on Sept. 20. However, Apple will have to wait until (at least) December before any new injunction issues, notes “FOSS Patents.”

This is all part of the ongoing, global legal battle. Apple and Samsung have filed more than 30 lawsuits against each other across four continents. For example, Apple alleges that Samsung copied the slide-to-unlock technology of its iPhone and iPad devices.
