Accellion — a company that provides enterprise-class, secure and mobile file sharing solutions — has announced enhanced user controls for its kitedrive file synchronization solutions as well as the availability of kitedrive for Mac users.

Kitedrive sync is a feature of Accellion Mobile File Sharing solutions launched earlier this year, and enables business users to access up-to-date enterprise content anytime, anywhere, from any device — mobile, tablet, laptop and desktop — whether a Mac or PC.In addition to the new Mac availability, kitedrive sync also includes new features that give users control over the frequency of sync and which folders should sync.

For IT departments, kitedrive file synchronization provides administrators with the necessary user and file activity logs to monitor and ensure information security standards are being met, according to Mary Nicknish, director of Product Development, Accellion. The kitedrive client is integrated with LDAP and SAML to ensure only authorized file syncing and sharing of enterprise content.

Kitedrive sync also works in conjunction with data leak protection (DLP) solutions to ensure that file synchronization is not only secure and tracked, but also monitored and filtered based on corporate policies for the protection of intellectual property, says Nicknish. In addition to Mac computers, kitedrive offers sync capabilities for computers running Windows 7.0 and later. For mobile devices, the kitedrive sync folder can be accessed via the Accellion Mobile Apps on iOS, Android and BlackBerry devices.

To utilize kitedrive file synchronization, users simply install the kitedrive client on their devices and designate which files they would like to keep synchronized. For more info go to www.accellion.com .
