August may be heading to an end, but “The MUG Event Calendar” is more than a little busy.

Aaron Davis of Apple will be at a Virginia group to discuss Mountain Lion, which also happens to be the topic of discussion in at Michigan and Maine groups this week. Digital photography expert Derrick Story will talk about why high-priced camera gear isn’t always necessary at a California group, and groups in England and California will be enjoying outdoor social events. Other topics set for this week include Smoke, a film festival, FileMaker Pro and more.

“The MUG Event Calendar” can be found at The MUG Center (http://www.mugcenter.com), an online resource for Mac User Groups. MUGs are good places for making new friends in the Mac community, imProving your computing skills, finding solutions to technical Problems, and perhaps locating a good deal on used hardware. For more info on MUGs, and to find the location of the one nearest you, go to Apple’s MUG page (http://www.apple.com/usergroups/).
