Kool Tool: Smarter Stand

Dotan Saguy’s Smarter Stand (http://www.smarterstand.com) is due to ship this fall for US$20, but we got an advance copy. And the little, inexpensive gadget offers a cool function.

Designed as a complement to the iPad Smart Cover (or Smart Case), the Smarter Stand lets you arrange the Apple cover or case in multiple stand positions. It’s comprised of two clips that attach to either side of the Smart Cover or Smart Case.

With the Smart Cover, a non-slip pad that sticks to the back side of the iPad also adds stability to the Apple tablet when it’s sitting on a desk, tablet, airline tray, lap desk or other surface. With the Smart Case, no pad is needed since the polyurethane of the back cover provides all the grip you need.

To use the Smarter Stand, you just slide the clips over certain folds in order to keep portions of the cover straight, creating new viewing angles. As mentioned, it will retail for $20 this fall. However, you can pre-order it now (http://macte.ch/cM36O) on Kickstarter for US$9.
