Satechi has released the US$15.99 Slim Surge Protector. It’s available at Satechi.net and Amazon.com.

The compact device features three grounded outlets and two USB ports delivering 2.1 amps of power to charge most devices, including the new iPad, Kindle Fire, iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy S III and more. The Slim Surge protector protects up to five devices from electrical spikes and surges.

It features Safety Shutdown Technology that uses thermal fuses to power off the user’s system protecting against fire and other damage in the event a power spike should occur. The green LED indicator illuminates when the device is protecting the user’s equipment. The Slim Surge Protector also includes an optional socket screw to secure the unit to a wall.
