The Ascension Parish school system in Donaldson, Louisiana, could become one of the first districts in the state to hand a personal computing device to each of its middle and high school students.

“The Advocate” reports (http://bit.ly/LY7HB5 ) the school district is expanding its “1 to 1” technology program for the 2012-13 school year. It will provide an estimated 1,800 iPad tablets to sixth- and ninth-grade students. Those students will join the approximately 2,000 students who already are using MacBook laptops.
