Nektony has introduced Boost&Memory 1.0, its new tool designed to manage memory usage on Mac computers. It requires Mac OS X 10.6 or higher, costs US$0.99, and s available worldwide exclusively through the Mac App Store in the Utilities category.

Boost&Memory forces the system to free up the inactive memory and make it available for processes requiring memory. It allows anyone to take control of memory usage with simple commands that are available just from the menu bar. Boost&Memory’s dynamic icon lets the user monitor the amount of used memory, no matter what application is active in the moment.

It allows Mac users to clear the inactive RAM both automatically and manually. Boost&Memory lets the user monitor the percentage of used memory, as well as the option to run a memory free-up operation. It also provides the user with valuable information about the amount of currently available memory and the memory currently used by system. What’s more, it provides information on when the size and date of the last memory free-up operation.
