Hunter Research and Technology has announced Pro Compass 1.0, a navigation solution for iOS devices. The app — available for US$0.99 for a limited time — replicates the look and feel of classic pocket compass hardware, adding modern features and technologies. The app offers nine different compass modes with needle, pointer, and rosette styles capable of displaying degrees, quads, or mils.

Cyrillian has released QED Solver for iPhone, a mathematical computing tool for science and engineering problems, as well as general math problems. The app — available for $2.99 for a limited time — features a smart editor for quick problem entry, syntax highlighting, a comprehensive library of built-in functions, blazingly fast computing engine, powerful charting capabilities and more.

CatfishBlues Games has introduced Zantetsuken 1.0, their new app for iOS devices. It’s a $0.99 run/action game where, in the shoes of Ran the kunoichi, you will be able to literally slice everything in your path.

Tekton Technologies has launched Magnifier Flash 1.0 for iOS. The $0.99 app provides not just a magnifier; it sports 6X zoom, a flash light and the ability to save zoomed view to the camera roll.

Rhyboo has unveiled the free PuzzlePlus for the iPad. Another in their series of jigsaw puzzle games that features eight different levels of complexity for each picture. PuzzlePlus includes eight famous paintings by Vincent Van Gogh, and users may download 300-plus additional pictures free.

Orange Qube has debuted BaM Delay Mirror 1.0 for iOS. It’s a $2.99 app for people needing visual feedback when learning a new dance move. Bust a Move Delay Mirror is designed to solve the short comings of using a mirror or video camera in a training session.

Demografix has created School Writing 1.0 for iPad. The $6.99 educational app allows teachers to prepare, and students to complete, writing lessons using written and audio instructions and responses.

Zuuka Comics has published Don Bluth’s Dragon’s Lair, a comic app for iOS. The first-ever digital release debuts with the original issues numbers one through six. It starts with the deadly dragon Singe swearing revenge on Dirk the Daring for killing his offspring. Based on the original classic arcade game released in 1983, the Dragon’s Lair comic series is celebrating its launch by offering fans the first issue for free.
