Apple has brought in 73 Korean-American contract attorneys and 20 reviewers to sift through “tons of Samsung documents,” reports “FOSS Patents” (http://macte.ch/eeVuq).

“Through two of the law firms it’s already working with, Apple now has access to 73 additional, apparently Korean-American, lawyers as well as 20 document reviewers of the same ethnicity,” the article adds. “And in one of the federal lawsuits, Apple was given a chance to take second depositions of up to ten Samsung witnesses since it previously didn’t have a fair chance to sift through late-produced documents in time for the original depositions.”

This week Samsung filed another lawsuit against Apple, this time in South Korea. The company alleges that the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 are violating three patents, according to “Reuters” (http://macte.ch/W4d9V). Samsung says the new suit — filed on Tuesday to a Seoul court — covers three utility patents and involves methods of displaying data, the user interface, and short text messages, the article adds. This is another round in the global, ongoing brouhaha between Apple and Samsung involving patent disputes.

The two companies have filed more than 30 lawsuits against each other across four continents. A German court on March 2 dismissed two cases brought by Apple and Samsung against each other as part of an ongoing legal battle.
