Hampton Flip is sexy, sleek iPhone flip case

The US$59.95 Sena Hampton Flip (http://www.senacases.com/apple/iphone-4s-cases/hampton-flip/) is a gorgeous, luxurious flip case for the iPhone 4 and 4S, though it’s lacking one feature I miss.

It’s not the most protective case around. But it does offer decent protection thanks to its rigid protective backbone. It also provides privacy in a full grain leather form that oozes sophistication and style.

With the Hampton Flip, the iPhone is held in place with a hidden strap at the top of the case, as well as a snap enclosure on the front flap. The interior is lined in acce-colored leather and sports two credit card pockets. Like most cases of its ilk, that’s a nice touch, but hardly spacious enough to replace my wallet.

So what’s the missing feature? There’s no option for a belt clip — a must for me, personally. If you slip your iPhone into a pocket or purse, you won’t miss the belt clip option. Also, the Hampton Flip won’t fit in a dock for charging; you’ll have to remove the iPhone to do so.

Finally, I’ve heard reports that, for some iPhone 4 users, flip cases can obscure the smartphone sensors, complicating phone calls. However, I noticed no call interference at all using my iPhone 4S in the Sena case.

The Hampton Flip is available in four flavors; I choose black, the hue that, to me, best matches the sleek, professional design of the case.
