Mac OS X software updates for Feb. 15

Here are the latest updates for Mac OS X apps.

Facilis Technology has announced version 5.5 of its TerraBlock Shared Storage System (http://www.facilis.com/products.html) featuring the Facilis Shared File System for Linux. Delivering improved compatibility, value, scalability and performance, the new software release also includes integrated server spanning and mirroring, Adobe Premiere Pro project sharing and a new capacity expansion product called TX16.

Vlad Polyanskiy has released iShutdown 2.2 (http://ishutdownapp.com), an update to his US$1.99 utility to Wake-on-LAN, shut down, sleep, hibernate or restart your Mac or PC remotely from an iOS device. iShutdown 2.2 works both with Wi-Fi and 3G. Now you can turn off your computer without leaving your chair.

Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity multi-platform engine and development tools, says Unity 3.5 (http://unity3d.com/shop) is now available for download. This latest update boasts improvements, tweaks, and optimizations. Unity 3.5 is a free update for all developers using version 3.0 or higher of the Unity development platform. For new users the entry-level product, Unity, is free for commercial use. The premier product, Unity Pro, remains $1,500 per developer seat.

AJA Video Systems (http://www.aja.com) has delivered version 3.0 firmware for its Ki Pro and Ki Pro Mini 10-bit 4:2:2 flash disk recorders. The company says it’s “packed with features that give users greater flexibility and capability for filmmaking, broadcasting and everything in between.” Version 3.0 firmware is available as a no-cost download for current Ki Pro and Ki Pro Mini customers.
