One Geek Army has released MovieIcon 2.6.1, an update of the Mac OS X 10.7.x (“Lion”) app that automatically searches out video cover art for users’ movie and TV show titles. The update includes improved IMDb searches for lesser known titles and iTunes artwork embedding.

With MovieIcon, users can drag their title covers into the app, and thes oftware automatically searches out all of the available artwork for each title, based on the file’s name. This can be done with a single file, or in batches. It works for movies, TV shows, and non-commercial or personally created videos.

MovieIcon costs US$9.99. It’s available worldwide exclusively through the Mac App Store in the Utilities category.
