Lantronix launches wireless printing solution for iOS devices

Lantronix has launched the xPrintServer,, which it says is the first iOS print server compatible with the iPad 2, iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and virtually any device running Apple’s mobile operating system.

The xPrintServer is available for pre-ordering now at store.Lantronix.com. The product will begin shipping in the first calendar quarter of 2012, and will also be available on Amazon, NewEgg, Buy.com, and MacMall websites. Lantronix will be showcasing the xPrintServer at Digital Experience on Jan. 9, 2012, the evening prior to the 2012 International CES in Las Vegas.

The xPrintServer, roughly the size of an iPhone, is a hardware solution that utilizes the iOS native print menu and requires no additional applications, software downloads, or printer driver installations. It boasts automatic printer discovery and no configuration.

The xPrintServer currently supports thousands of printer models from printer families including HP, Brother, Epson, Canon, Dell, Lexmark, and Xerox. The xPrintServer-Network Edition retails for approximately US$126 and is designed for enterprises and consumers using network-connected printers, either wired or wireless.
