Jason Lustig has announced FlashCards Sync 1.0, a new flash cards application for iPhone and iPad tailored for users of the Quizlet website. The US$0.99 app automatically downloads and syncs the user’s flash cards. Whenever the user edits their cards or creates new ones, the app automatically uploads and syncs their data with the Quizlet flash website. In addition, users can search and browse sets and “groups” as well as listen to their cards using a text-to-speech function.

Kumon Publishing North America has released Kumon Uppercase ABC’s for the iPad. This $3.99 app features is designed to help children learn to write uppercase letters and recognize the sound of each letter. It includes both a Letter Tracing Activity and Letter Sounds Activity.

Joint Studio has introduced iGhetto Point for iOS. It’s a $0.99, 3D, action/street basketball game with two play-modes: “classic basketball” with ball and hoops and “fire-mode” with bombs and lots of items to shoot and collect.

HEIMES has launched Calculus Auditus, an iOS game with integrated offline voice recognition. HEIMES says that with the $0.99 app, even without an iPhone 4S you can enjoy the pleasure of voice detection on every iOS device. Calculus Auditus provides three types of complexity and, for each type, a set of exercise types. You can also directly play against a friend or someone else.

Urbanscan has debuted the JIGaPIX franchise on iOS with the free JIGaPIX Christmas & JIGaPIX Unlimited. As well as being a traditional jigsaw puzzle Urbanscan has added a couple of spins to make JIGaPIX “a social puzzling phenomenon.” Once you have created your secret puzzle you can email it to another iOS device running JIGAPIX Unlimited for them to complete. Your creation can be saved to your phone or posted to Facebook.

ZiggityZoom has unleashed Feed the Monster 1.0 for iOS. Geared to kids of all ages, players can create their own monsters and interact with them in the $0.99 game. Over-feed them and they explode into five tiny monsters that you have to catch and put into the Merging Machine.

Apps2Be has presented Video Downloader Pro 1.0, an universal app to download and play videos on iOS. With the $1.99 app, you can purportedly download and play almost any video format on iOS without conversion. This app can also be used to transfer video files from a computer and play them on your iOS device.

Jordan Morgan Apps has given us Christmas Lister 1.0 for iOS. The $0.99 app allows users to create multiple Christmas gift lists, complete with estimated prices and total costs.

iFree Studio has developed Space Dominions 1.0, a free science fiction game for iOS devices. It’s a real-time strategy game in which you construct and fight in mysterious space dominions.

PopCap Games has rolled out a new adaptation of Bejeweled ($0.99), as well as a standalone, freemium edition of Bejeweled Blitz both for iPhone and iPod touch. The rollout of these titles “initiates a new strategic direction for the blockbuster puzzle game franchise on mobile platforms — now with expandable, evergreen game experiences suited to every gaming taste and budget,” according to PopCap. 

To safeguard private business and personal files on an iPad or iPhone, CommandHub has served up iFortress, an $9.99 app that uses enterprise-grade security and AES 256-bit encryption to protect important documents, notes, and photos in a password protected vault on the device. iFortress is built on CommandHub’s patented CommandVault technology used to protect corporate and government documents, placed on iPhones and iPads, with multiple levels of advanced security technology.

Snapily 3D is a new app that purportedly allows iPhone 4 and iPad 2 owners to turn their iPhone or iPad into a 3D camera and shoot true stereoscopic 3D pictures. It offers users several shooting and view modes (including gyroscope and anaglyph mode — for which 3D glasses are required). Additionally, you can order 3D prints directly from your iPhone or iPad for $3.99 per print. 

Five Deer has served up King Prawn for the iPad. It’s a $0.99, whimsical Sim that lets users take the reigns of their own prawn farm in a virtual aquarium.

Dust.Bit.Games has cooked up Cybrinth for iOS. The $2.99 app is a 3D, turn-based puzzle game that requires the player to think about each turn carefully to be able to find the best solution for each level. A Cubyrinth is a cubic maze build out of smaller cubes. The goal of the player is it to guide his prototype to different targets within the Cubyrinth. To do so, the player has to build ways through rotating rows of cubes.

D3Publisher has announced Mask of Lion: The Touch Combo Battle Action for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. In the free stylized artistic arcade adventure, players become a masked hero taking battle against a group of monsters that have begun to conquer the world.
