Disk Drill Media Recovery gets speed boost, more

CleverFiles Software (http://www.cleverfiles.com/) has released Disk Drill Media Recovery1.5, an update of its data recovery solution. It’s available at the Mac App Store for US$19.99 for a limited time (it’s normally $49.99). It requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later and can be found in the Utilities category.

Disk Drill Media Recovery is a new edition of the Disk Drill tool. It has almost all the features of its bigger brother, and runs the same up-to-date recovery algorithms. The main difference between Disk Drill Media Recovery available on the App Store and Disk Drill’s standard edition available for purchase directly from CleverFiles online is the absence of Recovery Vault technology and the inability of the new release on the Mac App Store to recover data from the main Mac’s hard drive.

These limitations are introduced as a result of somewhat tight requirements for developers willing to sell their software on the Apple’s App Store, according to the folks at CleverFiles. Version 1.5 offers a speed boost, a tweaked interface and new localizations.
