Harman International Industries has released the JBL Jembe desktop speakers, a compact and lightweight system. The speakers were built with patented JBL Slipstream port technology, which improves performance by delivering full bass with minimum distortion, says Sachin Lawande, executive vice president, chief technology officer and co-president, Lifestyle and Infotainment.

The JBL Jembe speakers were designed for flexibility and portability, as they can be used with a computer or laptop but also as a dynamic two-piece speaker system for digital music players, smartphones and gaming consoles, he adds. Computers and devices such as an iPad, iPod or iPhone connect to the Jembe speakers through a 3.5-millimeter auxiliary output, while a separate headphone jack allows for private listening.

The Jembe speakers feature the JBL Weave design and come in black. They measure 4-3/16 x 4-3/16 x 5-5/16 inches and have a volume control knob on top of one speaker for adjustments. Power controls can also be found on top, while a front-mounted LED light indicates when the power is on.

The JBL Jembe two-piece speaker system is available now with a suggested retail price of $69.95. For additional info or to purchase, go to http://www.jbl.com/Pages/LocaleSelector.aspx .
