Hindsight Labs has introduced Scout File Explorer 1.0 (http://www.hindsightlabs.com/products/scout/), a simplified file manager for Mac OS X. It requires Mac OS X 10.6.7 or higher and costs US$9.99. It’s available worldwide exclusively through the Mac App Store in the Utilities category.

Scout File Explorer offers a two-pane, tree-style interface and offers an alternative file management interface to the built-in Finder application. Scout’s tree-style file view will also be familiar to anyone who has previously used Windows Explorer, according to the folks at Hindsight Labs.

Scout also offers the ability to cut and paste files and and the ability to open a terminal window at the currently viewed location. It also fully integrates with existing applications so you can drag and drop files between Scout, Finder, and the desktop.
