Akvis Magnifier 5.0 adds support for GPU acceleration, more

Akvis (http://www.akvis.com) has released Akvis Magnifier.5.0 for Mac OS X (10.4 and higher) and Windows. The new version offers support for GPU (graphics processing unit) acceleration, batch processing, support for RAW files, and other important improvements.

Akvis Magnifier is designed to help you produce professional-looking enlargements out of digital images; it lets you resize images without loss in quality. The product is available as a standalone program as well as a plug-in for Photoshop.

The software allows you to enlarge an image to a super-high resolution of up to 30000 x 30000 pixels, making a 100 x 100 inch (2.5 x 2.5 meter) poster printable at a typographic quality of 300 dots per inch. The image processing parameters are grouped in two sections: Downsize and Upsize. The parameters become active accordingly the desired image size.

Akvis Magnifier costs US$129 for new users. Version 5. is a free upgrade for registered users. A fully functional, 10-day demo is available for download. Also, Akvis Magnifier is available in the Alchemy bundle (all-in-one pack) ,which offers all 17 Akvis products with the discount of 60% and comes in four variants.
