Eternal Storms Software has released ScreenFloat 1.2, an update of the productivity tool that creates “floating” screenshots. It requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later, costs US$7.99 and can be found in the Productivity category at the Mac App Store.

Version 1.2 brings OS X 10.7 (“Lion”) features such as fullscreen mode, sandbox support and more. ScreenFloat lets users create screenshots that float above all windows so they don’t have to move or resize windows around just to keep a piece of information visible on screen.

When shots are closed, they’re stored in ScreenFloat’s Shots Browser. There they can be organized with titles and tags and categorized with categories and smart categories, based on different criteria, like smart folders in Finder. A 15-day free trial is available for download from the application’s website (http://www.screenfloatapp.com).
