Ditter.projektagentur has announced The Photo Cookbook 2.0 (http://www.thephotocookbook.com/), an update to its US$15.99 cookbook for Mac OS X. The upgrade — which is OS X 10.7 (“Lion”) compatible — includes all the recipes that had to be purchased “in-app” in the iOS version. Users who already have the previous version will get the new recipes for free.

The Photo Cookbook provides a high-resolution photo at each step of the recipe to make it easy to see how the meal should develop at different stages on the stove or in the oven. It packs a total of 240 recipes with over 2,000 photos, a search function for ingredients and recipes, background information on the ingredients and 180 new recipes.

If an interesting recipe is found, the user can get a summarized list of the ingredients and use it as a shopping list or email it to someone else. Every recipe begins with a photograph of all the ingredients. By clicking on individual ingredients in this photo, you can get consumer information, as well as additional pictures.

The Photo Cookbook 2.0 is available immediately in the Mac App Store in the Lifestyle category. It requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or higher.
